He is a proud creature, to say the least, and this is clear in the way that he reacts when given orders. He tends to balk when told to do something, unless it is one of the very few wolves that he truly respects that orders him around. He is typically an articulate creature as well, very polite around wolves, whether they are strangers and friends. Shadow is rarely a submissive creature, always walking with his head and tail held high. He's got a distinctly proud nature, and it's not one that is easily hidden. Tending to be a little snappish, Shadow definitely has the best of tempers. However, he gets over his anger easily. He is easily irritated and as quickly as he grows angry, he lets it go and moves on with his life. Shadow is not one to cling to grudges (unless a wolf has threatened his family or pack), and is quick to let go of his anger. When angry, he tends to lash out verbally, but will not typically pick fights. Shadow is a more guarded creature than he first seems to be. It is difficult to get close to this male, who keeps his heart under lock and key. He has been burned a few times by wolves in his life, and therefore tends to keep the important things close to him. It's difficult to become friends with Shadow, but when he does grow close to other wolves, he reveals a fiercely protective streak. Pups find it easiest to grow close to Shadow, though that is more because he views them as innocent than anything else. If any wolf that he cares about should be in danger, Shadow will be the first one to leap in there, claws extended and fangs bared. He will fight to protect his family and home, and absolutely will not allow them to be hurt for as long as his heart beats. He will fight dirty to protect his family, a rare thing in this honorable wolf, and will give anything to protect the ones that he cares about. When one befriends Shadow, they have gained a friend and protector for life. History: Shadow Solaris was born to a small pack in lands far away from these. From his birth, he was groomed to be the leader of his pack. He was taught how to be a proper king, and told that he was better than all else. He was taught to be polite around all, but that above all, he should always protect his pack and his family (in a pack as small as theirs was, the two terms were interchangeable). This was instilled in the young Shadow's mind as he made his way through his first year of life, learning the things that all pups had to learn. However, before he reached two years of age, things changed. A new litter was born, and one was far larger than he should have been. Shadow's mother, Alanna Solaris, bled out. The pups survived, and though it was no fault of theirs, Shadow's father could not bring himself to face them anymore. He left the pack without a word of goodbye, and did not tell anyone that he was leaving. All of a sudden, the pack was left leaderless, and Shadow was too young to assume the throne. Another wolf took advantage of the chaos and claimed the pack as his own, challenging Shadow to a spar for the position of Alpha that had been rightfully his. Shadow fought, of course, unwilling to let this stranger claim the pack as his own. He was defeated with ease, due to his age and lack of experience, and unceremoniously driven from his pack. After that day, he wandered far and wide, spending a few days in the company of this wolf and that. However, he never settled down anywhere for long until he found the lands of Cercinia.
