HOW'S THE WORK ON CHARACTER CREATION?

Hello,
I went through the forums and found one good post from the 17th of February with good information on character creation and another from, I think, the 19th of April simply giving a confirmation that it’ll be in the game.
On the post from the 17th of Feb. it was mentioned that it was being worked on but more time was being put into ship customization.
So, what I want to know is how is the development for the character creation coming along? And I mean the creation of the characters themselves, I’m not as interested in clothes as much as I am the looks of my base character.
Any help appreciates
