Ah finally spring. No more snow biting at his paw pads, or cold winds rushing in his ears, and can't forget the appearance of more water and prey.
Stretching with a yawn, Nightmare stepped into the muck where bare trees stuck. He could hear crows cawing in the distance awaiting their next meal. He scoffed with a shake of his head.
Uck. The muck had covered his entire paws at the few steps he had already taken. Lifting a paw to shake it of the clinging mud, he made a disgusted noise. Ugh, all between my toes to. Walking on dry, dust and sandy earth is better tan this.
Squishing his paws back in, he elected to ignore it as he continued to walk. Eyes keeping a look out ahead as his ears stayed pricked for any sounds.
A paw paused in mid air as Nightmare froze, his ears swiveled around for any sound. There, the cawing of the crows had gotten louder along with their words. Leaning slightly over to where the sound was coming from, Nightmare listened.
Prey. Something had gotten stuck in the mud and couldn't get up. Perfect. Lunch is served. The brute grinned as he changed direction toward the loud cawing, letting out a howl to keep them at bay for the time being.

How did Cheza end up here, in this situation, she could not find the reason as to why she was like this. Could this have been a result of wondering to far from home. Her deep blue eyes looked at Chico, whom stood on a small tree that rested a few inches from her, his big eyes looked at Cheza. He seemed very worried, and well Cheza was indeed stuck in this muck, Chico tried to bend a branch closer to Cheza's muzzle. It did not work, Chico was just to light and small to do such thing. He leaped from the branch and glided down to cheza's back. His eyes scanned the surroundings for any other possibilities that could help Him get his best friend out of this muck."Cheza, I will get you out of here. I think i see something that could help get you out of this, i just need to cross the muck." Cheza's ears flung back as her companion spoke to her about seeing something to get her out, but Chico said he had to cross the muck. Cheza let out a soft growl of dislike, letting her little friend know that she did not approve of that. "Chico, no don't do that, we can find another option to get me out of this situation. After all it is not your job to get me out of this predicament. I thought i was light enough to cross and i would not sink. It was my wrong decision, and my responsibility. I can't have you risk your life for my stupid mistake."
Chico looked up at the crows that were starting to circle them, He did not like that, not one bit. Chico walked closer to cheza's ears and spoke softly, He did not want to alert the crows even further. "Cheza, we have some company, more like hungry company. Cheza.."Cheza looked up in the sky and saw what Chico was talking about, she knew that the crows were mostly after her small companion. She lowered her head to gaze at the tree that rested in front of her, Cheza knew that their had to be a way to use that tree to get her out of this. She could feel her Sugar glider start to hide him-self in-side of her thick fur, most likely to get out of the view of the crows, like that mattered at all they already knew where he was. She sighed and let out a howl of help, she could only hope that some one else came into this place, and that they herd her call. Oh please let them have herd her call, Before the crows decide to attack Chico and make him their next meal.
It was a lot harder to bound through the muck then Nightmare thought it would be. He easily got stuck and almost fell flat on his maw multiple times if it wasn't for his fast reflexes. Unfortunately those accidents got the mud matting his thick dark coat.
Great. Now I'll have to deal with a full bath-oof! Another attempt at bounding laid him flat as a deep spot sucked at his leg. Huffing in agitation, he yanked until the mud hole released his leg with a sickening sucking pop.
"I am never coming here again." He mumbled as he continued on. By now he had gotten closer, the crows in closer sight and the muck getting deeper and sucking anything further down.
When the brute finally made it in sight of what they were causing a ruckus about, the first thing his eyes caught was cream. It wasn't even prey! It was another wolf stuck. That changed the game. Growling, Nightmare snapped at the crows before looking for a way to help the other out without getting himself pulled in as well.
Spotting a tree he went over and pressed his paws against it to unlodge it from it's muddy prison. "Need some help there?"

Cheza soon herd a voice from the distance growling at the crows, chasing them away. Her ears swiveled as she turned her head to see this other who saved her companion, Who was he. Cheza soon looked at him as he spoke once more about asking if she needed some help, Cheza could feel Chico still hiding under her fur. Cheza smiled a tthe man and nodded "Oh yes please, thank you" She spoke as she saw him lower a branch to help her out of her predicament, Cheza grabbed the branch with her maw and latched down as she pulled her self out of the muck. Once that was done she stood on the solid ground dripping in yucky brown mud. Jsut then Chico peered otu from under her fur, he soon came all the way oout and looked at Cheza's coat. "Cheza my darling your fur, is all uck." Cheza shook her head at her companion and looked back at the brute who had helped her out of that muck. "Thank you so much for your help, Is their anything i can do to repay you let me know." She spoke as she smiled at the Brute her tail swaying gently.
"It was nothing. No payment needed." He sat and shrugged as he turned his head slightly before turning back to take stock of the she-wolf and her companion. She was coated in more mud then he was from being stuck, her companion-he titled his head, What is that? It looks like a squirrel- was fairly clean.
Raising to his paws he nodded to the she-wolf before turning around to go back the way he came, "It would be best to avoid going further and just turn back. Less muck to fall in."
He glanced back and paused, "You can accompany me out of this muck if you'd like."
Cheza looked at the mysterious brute who just helped her out of the muck, her deep blue eyes gazed upon his rugged appearance. At one glance you would never take him as someone who has a soft heart. Cheza noticed his eyes locked upon Chico, her sugar glider companion, She could tell that The brute was not to familiar with her friend. She smiled at him and started t follow him out of the muck, Cheza did not want to get to close to him or get stuck again. She then decided to speak, her words were soft and quiet like always."This is my companion Chico, he is a sugar glider. I don't think we exchanged names yet, i am Cheza, and who may you be?" She said as she continued to walk along with him, he seemed really nice. Cheza was not sure as if she was falling for him, or what, but all she knew is that she could not get serious. She knew that if that did happen she would not be able to give out puppies.
Nightmare expected the walk to be a quiet affair but his ears picked up the faes quiet voice over the noise of their feet in the muck. Sugar glider named Chico and her name is Cheza. A quiet one she is.
"I'm known as Nightmare, Cheza." He answered, pausing before continuing speaking while glancing back. "Sorry if I end up scaring you. I'm fairly aggressive most times, so I may end up snapping."
He wasn't used to being very nice and calm around others, he needed to assert his dominance most times. Frankly, he didn't feel like scaring the female, she could have easily thought he was mad at her if he snapped when he wasn't.
I'd rather prefer not to scare someone who doesn't know me.
