Snowflakes had begun to fall heavily as Lansa padded, slowly and softly along in the wilderness. He was exhausted by his long journey so far. Suddenly he came to the edge of a pine forest and decided to try and take some shelter under the trees from the snow. Lansa entered the forest cautiously and took refuge under a particularly large pine tree just inside the first tree line of the forest. He sniffed the air and caught the scent of wolves, although in his exhausted state, he could not tell how far away they were. "At last I have found a pack. I can only hope that they are not as hostile as some of the other packs I have met on my journey." he said, thinking aloud to himself, sitting down slowly and looking around.
Lansa let out a long howl which hung on the air for a moment, before being carried over the forest on the wind. He then stood up and dug a hollow in the snow right in the base of the tree. Lansa then laid down slowly, and curled right up into the base of the tree trunk to keep warm. "Right let's see what happens." he thought to himself , once again looking round at the forest, listening all the while for any sounds.
Hearing yet another howl causes Shadow to become alert, even more so than before. Thoughts race through his mind yet again. He wonders if this wolf is alone, hostile, maybe..searching again? Do these thoughts just commonly flow through Shadow's mind? Does that really matter?
Shadow makes his way through the forest, exiting the Clarion Clearing quickly as he heads toward the epicenter of the sound waves that still seem to reverberate through the forest. When he arives, he sees a wolf, lying down next to some trees, a tiny layer of snow seems to have formed not only over the forest, but also slightly over this wolf. The white snow cooperates with the silvery wolf to create a very blended sight, while the wolf still appears to be there, the only thing Shadow truly sees, is the glint of darkness that contrasts so faintly with the snow.
Justice. That is all Shadow can think of when he sees this wolf. Justice. The similarities between this wolf and his younger brother are so apparent, Shadow almost addresses the fae as such. He refrains however, and he begins to prepare for conversation, sloughing off any thoughts of his previous family.
Shadow holds his body up proudly, although he feels no pride in his stance. He begins to speak, his deep voice seeming to penetrate even the snow. "Hello there. My name is Shadow. This land you have found yourself in is YumeHaru. May I ask what your business is here? We are a very peaceful pack of very few members, and we wish for no conflict from any other packs." Shadow says, trying to get rid of any ideas of letting another pack attack his own. "But...I don't believe that is what you are here for..is it?"
Shadow releases some of his tension, allowing himself to appear more like the calm tempered wolf that he is. While waiting for a reply, Shadow smiles lightly at the practical duplicate of his younger sibling.
Lansa looked up at the sound of the voice. Stood above him, was a wolf which was pure white, with black streaks and a black tail with a white tip. Lansa got to his feet, shook the snow that fallen on his fur off, then sat down. "What an unusual colour for a wolf" Lansa thought to himself as he watched the wolf for a moment. From looking at the wolf's stance, Lansa could tell that he was the alpha of this pack so Lansa immediately placed himself in a submissive stance. The wolf introduced himself as Shadow and proceeded to ask Lansa, what he was doing here. In response to Shadow's questions, Lansa repiled " Hello my name is Lansa. No I didn't come here to cause conflict. I was merely looking for a pack and place to call home as my own pack was destroyed." keeping his submissive stance.
Hearing the wolf's apparently honest reply, Shadow gives a simple reply of his own, thinking, all the while about the odds of this wolf lying. Shadow thinks of the many possibilities..He thinks of the many possible betryals..he thinks of the many lies that can escape a wolf's mouth..
Shadow ignores all of that as he speaks. "Well then, if what you say is true..Then I have no problem with you joining my pack. YumeHaru is in need of new members. But, first, I'd like to know what you have to offer for the pack, so that I can properly place you in our ranks."
Lansa listened to Shadow speak. When Shadow asked Lansa what he had to offer the pack, Lansa replied "Well I was in the first litter born into my pack in some years. I have excellent hunting skills which were taught to me, when I was old enough by my mother, who was a notably good hunter. However the thing I enjoy most and oddly for a male wolf is looking after pups, seeing them grow and develop, teaching them how to hunt and all about life in a pack. My gentle and caring nature shone through from an early age and my mother, noticing this decided that when the next litter of pups were born, that I would have a major role in helping to raise them.
When the second litter was born, I was a year old. My mother would enlist me to stand guard and watch over them, when they were old enough to begin playing at the den entrance. She would also leave them in my care for long periods of time whilst she went off to hunt. As they grew older, she also asked me to begin teaching them to hunt, just like she taught me when I was younger. By the time the third litter was born a short time before my pack was wiped out by a much larger one, my mother had fully entrusted the previous litter's care and training to me. I was two years old when the third litter was born and once again my mother relied on me to help her."
