YumeHaru is a shining star in the dark western corner of Cercinia. Despite the marshes and swamps that are characteristic of this region, YumeHaru serves to prove that the West has more to offer than mud and stench. Within the darkness that is the West of Cercinia lies a gentle, preserved forest territory known as YumeHaru.
Deodar Labyrinth: If one were to look at YumeHaru from and aerial view, he would notice that YumeHaru is an almost perfectally circular territory that can be separated into layers or sections. The first, outermost layer is the Deodar Labyrinth, an expansive, ring-like pine forest surrounding the center of the territory. This area supports many varieties of wildlife including bears, elk, bobcat, squirrels, various birds of prey, and many repties.
Many streams and rivers flow through YumeHaru and all of them flow through the Deodar Labyrinth. Each one appears to be extremely dark and murky, reflecting the surrounding areas. This dark water may be a result of the black river stones that lie at the bottom of each water basin, or maybe it is something more sinister.
During the night, no light from the guiding heavenly bodies breaches the branch wall, making it both dangerous and hard to navigate the area in the evening. It is also very easy to lose track of time here as the sun appears to set quicker here.
Perennial Woodlot: The second "ring" of the YumeHaru territory is the Perrenial Woodlot, a much more inviting deciduous forest that quickly transitions from the Deodar Labyrinth. During the day, the sunlight always manages to reach the floor of the forest, depite the thick canopy created by the branches. Many creatures such as fox, deer, racoons, rabbits, songbirds, and various amphibians live here.
Each river and stream that flows through YumeHaru also flows through the Perennial Woodlot. The water contained here, while the same in origin, appears more clear and the reflective. Sunlight warms the water keeping them relatively comfortable for swimming year round.
The Abyssmal Mere: All of the rivers and streams that flow through the territory meet near the center of the Perennial Woodlot, towards the southern side. This lake is very pure, and is always completely calm despite the many river mouths feeding into it.
On the north side of the mere is an enourmous waterfall, the Sovereign Cascade. A cave lies behind it large enough for a wolf to reside. All Alphas and Knights of the Round are required to spend a day and a night in this cave before assuming his position as leader.
On the south side of the mere is a large moss engulfed boulder, the Highborn Ore. All Nobles are required to spend a day and night of meditation on this structure before assuming any duties as a Noble.
Clarion Clearing: South of the Abyssmal Mere is a very large clearing surrounded entirely by intertwining vines, ivy, and creeping flowers and plants. The foliage connect a large circle of trees with several feet worth of height, creating a sort of wall between the Perennial Woodlot and the clearing.
Only one entrance into the Clarion Clearing exists, which is through the northern entrance. Soft, wavy, green grass covers the ground alone inside this clearing giving the area a serene feel.
The dominating flowering plant creating the "wall" or the clearing is a type of trumpet flower which blooms beautiful pastel colors in the spring. This is the reason for the clearing's name.
Blossom Grove: In the center of the Clarion Clearing is a large grove of cherry blossom trees which bloom longer than normal. The outer trees bloom a light lavender, while the color fades to pink and eventually to pure white towards the center. This is the resting place of the Alpha.
The fall is the only season which brings wind from the North. This wind causes a marvelous phenomena every year; when the cherry blossoms become loose and ready to fall, the south wind flows through the only entrance into the protected clearing, blowing every bloom off of the trees in the grove, causing them to drift and float throughout YumeHaru. This phenomena is known as "The Fall's Dream of Spring".
