Shadow's personality is in ways similar to his colors, pure, yet not.
Shadow has a very kind and caring personality, when it comes to other wolves. He would gladly help strangers, and he cares deeply about his family. He despises unfairness and he wishes that our world could be filled with peace.
On the other hand, Shadow also realized the sad state that the world is in; he understands that life is no longer in any way perfect. Because of this, Shadow feels that it is important to always be ready; Shadow never wants to have to be surprised by the declining state that our world is in. As a result of this, Shadow, in a way, built a wall around his heart, a wall apparently made of diamond. His wall is practically impenetrable, but it still allows the light of his heart to shine through, although maybe slightly distorted.
Shadow regrets the separation he caused from his family, but he realizes that the decisions he made can not be erased, so he treks onward, trying not to regret his past. While he tries to blot out the sadness of his mistakes, Shadow never blotted out the family that became entangled in his mistakes.
History: Shadow was born the first son to the Alpha of his pack. Shadow learned battle strategy under his father in the days when his father's judgment was still pure. As his father began to make decisions that were not for the best of the pack, Shadow began to question his own father's rule.
Shadow wanted to leave the pack rather than deal with the problem himself, but there was one thing binding him to his pack, his younger brother, Justice. Shadow eventually decided to confront his father about that problems Shadow felt were important. When he did, however, rather than discuss the problem civilly, Shadow was forced to fight his own father. Shadow lost.
Shadow was forced to leave his own brother behind with the now maniacal leader that was his father. Shadow swore to accept his defeat, but he also swore never to leave his true family. Shadow remained close to the pack, never wandering too far, making sure that Justice was safe.
Shadow was thrilled when his mother bore another child, Legacy. Shadow wanted nothing more than to return, but he knew this was not his place. As His new family grew up, Shadow watched, always watching, always present.
When Justice was banned from the pack, Shadow had to decide; stay with Legacy, or follow Justice. Shadow was forced to chose Legacy because now, his own mother had died bearing two more children. One of whom was crippled.
One day, Shadow was horrified to find that Legacy was leaving the pack, just as he did. Shadow followed his family, making sure they had what they needed, until one day, each siblings was separated in an intense storm. Shadow was devastated; he had failed in protecting each and every one of his family members, and was now lost himself.
Shadow found a forest during his wanderings and decided to call it his home, he had nowhere left to go anyway.
